The Ashcombe commands a wall the way built-in millwork used to — a full entertainment system in two-tone black and walnut, bookshelves rising on either side of a television bay large enough for an 80-inch screen. Below, an electric fireplace holds twelve flame colors and adjustable heat, turning the console into the literal warm center of the room.

Glass-paned cabinet doors and open display shelving give the piece real function beyond the screen: books, decor, the accumulated objects of a lived-in living room, all find a place here. Ten cable management cutouts keep the wiring invisible, while a wall anchor and anti-tip device add the kind of stability a piece this scaled needs.
